1. Introduction

This Refund & Cancellation Policy governs how refunds, cancellations, and disputes are handled on the Eventus platform (“Eventus”, “we”, “our”, or “us”). Eventus is a digital marketplace that connects users with events, programs, and services provided by independent organizers (“Event Hosts”).

By using Eventus or purchasing any ticket, subscription, or service through the platform, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to this Policy.

2. Role of Eventus

Eventus operates solely as a technology platform and marketplace. We do not own, organize, or directly deliver events listed on the platform. Each event is managed by an independent Event Host who determines pricing, availability, and refund rules, subject to this Policy and applicable Nigerian law.

3. General Refund Policy

Unless otherwise stated on the event page or required by applicable law:

  • All payments are final.
  • Tickets, registrations, subscriptions, or digital access fees are non-refundable once payment is successfully completed.

Refunds will not be granted for:

  • Change of mind
  • Failure to attend or participate
  • Scheduling conflicts
  • User-side technical issues (e.g., poor internet, incompatible devices)

4. Event Cancellation by Host

If an Event Host cancels an event:

You may be entitled to one of the following, depending on the Host's policy:

  • A full refund
  • A credit for a future event
  • Rescheduling of the event

Eventus will assist in facilitating communication between you and the Host. However, refunds remain subject to the Host's stated terms, except where Nigerian consumer protection law requires otherwise.

5. Event Rescheduling

If an event is rescheduled:

  • Your ticket or registration will normally remain valid for the new date.
  • Refunds will only be issued if:
    • The Event Host permits refunds for rescheduled events, or
    • Applicable Nigerian law requires a refund due to material changes or failure of service.

6. Digital Products, Subscriptions & Services

For digital products, memberships, subscriptions, or online services purchased on Eventus:

  • Payments are non-refundable once access has been granted.
  • No partial refunds will be provided for:
    • Unused time
    • Missed sessions
    • Early termination by the user

7. Exceptional Circumstances

Refunds may be considered on a case-by-case basis in exceptional circumstances, including but not limited to:

  • Duplicate or erroneous charges
  • Proven platform or system errors during payment
  • Events cancelled without notice and without any alternative (refund, credit, or reschedule)

All refund determinations under this section are final unless otherwise required by law.

8. How to Request a Refund

To request a refund:

Send an email to hello@eventus.cc including:

  • Full name
  • Registered email address
  • Event name
  • Proof of payment
  • Detailed reason for the request

Requests must be submitted within 7 days of the event date, cancellation notice, or the date the issue occurred.

Eventus will review your request and respond within a reasonable timeframe. Where applicable, approval of refunds remains subject to the Event Host's policy.

9. Chargebacks & Payment Disputes

If you initiate a chargeback or payment dispute with your bank or card provider without first contacting Eventus:

  • Your account may be temporarily suspended while the matter is investigated.
  • Repeated abuse of chargebacks may result in permanent account restriction.

We encourage users to resolve disputes directly with us before contacting their financial institution.

10. Compliance with Nigerian Law

This Policy is governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, including applicable consumer protection regulations. Nothing in this Policy limits any rights you may have under Nigerian law that cannot be lawfully excluded.

11. Changes to This Policy

Eventus reserves the right to modify this Refund & Cancellation Policy at any time. Updates will take effect immediately upon publication on the platform.
